At a glance
- What it costs
- You set the reward, and that is the entire charge. AeroPerk takes 8% of it and Stripe takes 2.9% + $0.30 to process the card. Nothing is added on top.
- When the money moves
- Your card is charged once the request is accepted, and the amount is held. The traveler is paid only after the delivery is confirmed in the app.
- Who carries it
- Only travelers who have completed Stripe identity and payout verification. Until Stripe reports the account as verified, it cannot publish a route or accept a request.
- Where it works
- Any two cities a verified traveler has published a route between. AeroPerk is available in English, Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese.
Four steps, read from both sides
Senders and travelers move through the same four steps. Here is what each one asks of you.
- 1
Post the request, or publish the trip
If you are sending
Describe the package, add photos, set the pickup and drop-off points, and name the reward you are willing to pay. Your request reaches verified travelers whose published routes match — or you browse those routes yourself and approach someone directly. Posting costs nothing.
If you are traveling
Publish the trip you are already taking: cities, dates, and how much room you have. Requests that fit the route surface for you, and nothing obliges you to take any of them.
- 2
Match, then agree the details in chat
If you are sending
When a traveler claims your request, a chat opens between the two of you. Settle the timing, the handoff point, and any careful handling there, before you commit to anything.
If you are traveling
Read the request, ask whatever you need to ask, and accept only if the package and the timing genuinely fit your trip. You can decline anything, for any reason.
- 3
Pay up front, hand off in person
If you are sending
You pay once the request is accepted, and the money is held — the traveler does not receive it yet. At the handoff you inspect the package together, in person, before it changes hands.
If you are traveling
Meet the sender, check the contents together, and confirm pickup in the app. That shared inspection is what protects you if the package is ever questioned later.
- 4
Deliver, confirm, get paid
If you are sending
The traveler confirms the delivery with proof in the app, and only then does the hold release. If something is wrong, you open a dispute instead of the payment going through unchallenged.
If you are traveling
Confirm the delivery and the reward, minus the platform and processing fees, lands in your balance. Stripe pays it out automatically once you have $50 waiting, or on demand for a flat $0.50.
What it costs
Nobody quotes you here. You set the reward, and that number is the whole price — AeroPerk adds nothing on top of it at checkout. The platform fee and Stripe's processing fee come out of the reward before the traveler is paid, and every figure is on screen before you confirm.
- One number, no surprises
- The reward you set is exactly what your card is charged. No service charge, no insurance upsell, no weight band or fuel surcharge added later.
- The fees come out of the reward
- 8% to AeroPerk and 2.9% + $0.30 to Stripe are deducted before payout. Set the reward with that in mind and the traveler knows precisely what they will receive.
- Cancelling before pickup
- Cancel a paid request before a traveler is assigned and the reward comes back minus the platform fee and Stripe's fixed $0.30. On a $100 reward that is $91.70 refunded — the 2.9% processing portion is returned to you.
Worked example
Example, not a quoteWhere it goes
- AeroPerk platform fee (8%)
- −$8.00
- Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30)
- −$3.20
Calculated with the same fee function the checkout uses, on a reward of one hundred dollars. Your own total is worked out and displayed before you confirm payment.
What stands between you and a stranger
None of this rests on a badge. Every protection below is a mechanism you can check.
Stripe verifies them, not us
Travelers complete Stripe's identity and payout verification before they can accept anything. Until Stripe reports the account as verified, it cannot take a request or receive money.
The money waits for the delivery
Your payment is captured up front and held. It moves to the traveler only once the delivery is confirmed in the app — never on a promise beforehand.
Contact details stay in the app
Coordination happens in AeroPerk chat, so you can agree on a handoff without handing over your phone number or email address. The conversation stays on record.
Either side can open a dispute
From the moment a request is paid until it is closed out, the sender or the traveler can flag a dispute. It reaches the AeroPerk team with the request's full event history attached.
Questions people ask
How much does it cost to send a package?
You choose the reward, and that is the entire amount your card is charged. AeroPerk takes 8% of it and Stripe takes 2.9% + $0.30 for processing; the traveler receives the rest. On a $100 reward that is $8.00, $3.20 and $88.80.
Is this cheaper than a courier?
That depends on the reward you set, because you set it — AeroPerk never quotes you a price. There is no weight band, no fuel surcharge and no remote-area fee on top. The only deductions are the 8% platform fee and Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30, and both come out of the reward rather than being added to it.
When exactly does the traveler get paid?
After the delivery is confirmed in the app. Your payment is captured when the request is accepted and held until then. Earnings go out through Stripe automatically once a traveler has $50 waiting, or on demand for a flat $0.50 instant-payout fee.
What happens if the package never arrives?
You open a dispute. Any request that has been paid — through assignment, pickup and delivery — can be disputed by either side, and it reaches the AeroPerk team with the request's event history attached for review.
Can I cancel after I have paid?
Yes, while the request is still open or paid and no traveler has been assigned to it. The reward is refunded minus the 8% platform fee and Stripe's fixed $0.30; the 2.9% processing portion comes back to you. Once a traveler is assigned, they have to be unassigned first.
What can I not send?
Illegal or controlled substances, weapons and ammunition, explosives, hazardous materials, and perishables or live animals are all prohibited. Licensed food businesses can arrange perishable deliveries under agreed handling conditions.
What do I need in order to deliver packages while travelling?
An account, a minimum age of 18, and completed Stripe identity and payout onboarding. Once Stripe reports your account as verified you can publish routes and accept the requests that fit them.
Is there anything in it for referring people?
Yes. The affiliate program pays you a share of AeroPerk's platform fee on deliveries made by people you refer — from 10% up to 15%, across five tiers.
